	In talking with your son the other night I mentioned that I had been intending to show you some papers which came to me when we closed up our farm in Kirkland several years ago. These papers related to the Stockbridge Indians. As he said you were working on some data on the Indians of this territory, I thought it best to send you copies of the matterin [matter in] case any of it should be of any use to you. Wish that they had been papers pertaining to Samuel Kirkland rathern than to John Sargent Junior.
