Our Team
Digital collections at Hamilton are produced through a collaborative endeavor. We partner with members of the Michael Lang ’67 Special Collections and Archives team to select resources as candidates for digitization, which then are proposed to our Digital Collection Development Committee. Once scheduled, these items are digitized in our in-house digitization lab. Particularly fragile or oversized materials may be sent to an outside vendor for digitization. From there, the digitized resources are passed along for metadata creation, before being ingested into our digital repository. We take care to consider issues around digital preservation throughout the process outlined above.
