- Abstract
- N-5 1817, Sept. 26 Letter to William Robinson in Southington from Ezra Sampson in Hudson NY. Sampson writes to tell his former Yale classmate that he has become acquainted with his son, Edward (who was in the law office of James Strong in Hudson, NY, from February to September, 1817). E. R. quotes most of this letter on p. 127 of his book, Memoirs, but the only portion not quoted is that which pertains to himself. Sampson writes that "your son is what I would wish him to be were he my own," and continues with a paragraph lauding the intellect and character of E. R.
